Most of us suffer from seasonal allergies, especially at this time of year. The beautiful days cause us to open the windows and the next thing you know, your eyes are itching and allergies have struck! I moved from New Jersey and naturally my allergies were much worse when I lived there. Now that I have found a remedy to keep them at bay, my life has been more peaceful as a result and I have been nearly allergy free. I do get the occasional sniffle but then I know it is time to take my "medicine".
The problem.......
Allergies are a result of not only environmental factors but they are also related to our own mental and emotional issues. An imbalance of the heart chakra can cause allergies to flare up. The Heart chakra is about love. When the heart chakra is open we are open to change and growth. We feel sympathy and empathy, are sensitive to others feelings, needs and emotions. The heart chakra is associated with hopes of the future and awareness of our spiritual purpose. When it is open, we are compassionate and friendly; we experience love, joy, acceptance and fulfillment.
When our heart chakra is closed we have fears about our life and our involvement with others lives. We may distance ourselves from others and become isolated. We may have an inflated ego; we may be jealous and ungrateful. We may have circulation ills, high blood pressure and seasonal allergies.
The neti pot is filled with warm water and a saline solution that usually comes with the Neti pot. You then pour the Neti solution into your nose and it irrigates the nasal passage. This clears out any "debris" that could become lodged in your nasal passage and cause irritation or a sinus infection. I use this whenever I feel the sniffles coming on!
Herbal Boost........
The second thing I do during allergy season is take extra herbal supplements. I take vitamin C and Echinacea to boost my immune system and scare off any potential infections that the season might bring.
Headache.......
To treat the headaches that sometimes come along with the seasonal allergies, I rub a small amount of Tiger balm on my temples and use reflexology to relieve the pain. This technique can always be used to relieve headaches!
Tea Time.......
An herbal mint tea always helps to soothe breathing and relax the body as well.
I hope that you will find something here that will benefit your mind, body and spirit. Please bring it with you on your journey and share it with those who may also be in need of some relief.
Wishing You Well Today and Always.
i love the neti pot! been using it for years. For a sinus infection i use warm water, a little sea salt and a few drops of peroxide. Works wonders for those painful sinus headaches.
ReplyDeleteOh,that's a great recipe Nicole! Thank you for sharing it. I will have to try it with the peroxide!
